Flock Safety Cameras

About Flock Safety

BHNA has partnered with Flock Safety, a national community security provider that specializes in community safety through the use of license plate reader cameras.  Flock Safety’s cameras are entirely self-sufficient; they are solar powered and send footage via mobile technology to a secure cloud-based network unique to our community.  The cameras have both day and night-time capability to read and record license plates that pass through our community.

Privacy

Privacy is a top concern for Flock Safety and BHNA.  Camera footage is automatically deleted after 30 days.  Data may only be accessed by individuals designated by the board and only to identify suspicious vehicles.  The BHNA Board periodically reviews all access history to ensure privacy standards are maintained.

Responsibility

Despite this technology, it is just a camera.  The best way to deter crime is a responsibility we each own individually: lock your doors and keep your valuables out of sight.  We are fortunate to live in such a safe neighborhood, but with over 500 homes and an apartment community we are an attractive target for illegal activity.  We believe that our security cameras will both deter mischief crimes and serve as a valuable resource to aid law enforcement in the prosecution of criminal activity.

Who Pays for Flock Safety Cameras

Our cameras are funded entirely by dues paying Members of Barrington Hall Neighborhood Association.  Our dues are $75 annually based on our current membership, which represents approximately 25% of homes in Barrington Hall.  Please help Barrington Hall remain a safe and secure place to live by becoming a Member.   To join, just click New Member Signup pay by credit card or PayPal online, or download a Membership Form to pay by check and mail!
